One hour for Earth

Saturday March 23rd between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm, we will turn off part of our lights at our Headquarters in Ballerup. We do so to support the global campaign Earth Hour which focuses on global energy consumption, the world's ressources, and climate action.

One hour one time a year, Earth Hour focuses on global energy consumption, our ressources, and climate action. During this single hour, we turn off the lights on part of our building and parking areas around our buildings.

Topdanmark has encouraged  all employees to join the Earth Hour campaign as well, by turning off lights at home on Saturday March 23rd.

Facts

In 2023, Topdanmark had a combined energy reducted at 18% from base year 2019.

Can a single hour change anything?

A single hour probably does not change much in the big picture. But purhaps this one dark hour can bring more than simply savings on the energy bill.

In this specific hour, lights will be turned off all over the world, and together humans all over our planet collectively support the survival of the plant we all share. Earth Hour is a global reminder to prioritise our nature, our drinking water, and our globe. We simply cannot live without either.

One hour reminding us to make all other hours count.

Facts

Earth Hour originated in Australia in 2007. At the most recent campaign, more than 50 million people from 192 countries participated.
