In August 2024, Topdanmark had its near-term targets for reduction of greenhouse gases approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). SBTi is an official, international alliance backed by the UN, which helps companies ensure that their climate targets comply with the Paris Agreement.

In recent years, there has been an increasing focus on the negative environmental consequences of disposable plastic, especially when it ends up in nature. Topdanmark has decided to also reduce the use of single-use plastic items - both in the canteen and in other operations.
