At Topdanmark, we are supportive of our employees’ health. We believe that it contributes to the well-being and job satisfaction of the individual employee, and at the same time it provides the foundation for delivering the best service to our customers.
With our health policy, we intend to create a healthy setting at the workplace. In practice, this means that the employees are offered a number of initiatives which can be utilised as desired and needed. This includes, among other things, cycling activities, massage schemes, healthy food in the canteen and continuous health checks.
We keep an eye on our employees’ sickness absence, because we consider it to be an indicator of both the physical and mental well-being of our employees. Our objective is that the sickness absence should be lower than the Danish Employers’ Association for the Financial Sector’s estimate for the entire insurance industry.
The number of people on sick leave due to stress in Danish society is generally increasing. We also see this tendency among our own employees. Therefore, we have a number of initiatives to both prevent incipient stress and to take care of the employees affected by stress.
As part of the prevention of stress and other illnesses, all Topdanmark employees are offered a health check during working hours every second year. It focuses on mental, social and physical health, both at and outside the workplace. Furthermore, all employees can receive anonymous stress counselling from experienced psychologists.
In the event of severe and long-term stress, we can offer a personalised course of treatment as part of the employee’s health insurance.
Since 2016, employees at risk of lifestyle diseases have been offered personalised health sessions with My Health. Every session is typically 3-4 months. The sessions have proven to produce great results within long-term and sustainable lifestyle changes.
