Social, climate and environmental conditions in the supply chain are important elements in our joint efforts for a more sustainable Topdanmark. Therefore, we take the Global Compact principles into consideration when we select and evaluate suppliers.

We have a solid network of suppliers that among other things handles claims relating to buildings, motor vehicles, travels, and accidents. We also make purchases for the operations of our business e.g., external consultancy, office supplies, business systems, and IT equipment. Our focus is to build a trustful and professional collaboration with the supplier in question focusing on quality, responsibility, and sustainability.

Principles for suppliers

To support our wish to integrate sustainability into the supply chain and reduce potential risks, we have established a systematic programme for suppliers. The programme is made up of several elements:

  • Code of conduct for suppliers is our minimum requirement for suppliers. The supplier is obliged to sign the code of conduct, and the code of conduct is integrated into new contracts and when renegotiating the existing contracts.
  • ESG screening is an integral part of our procurement process for tenders.
  • Further contractual requirements in addition to the code of conduct, can be introduced for selected suppliers when deemed relevant. This could be regarding CO2 reduction or circular economy.

At product level, we want to increase our focus on sustainability by increasingly transforming the procurement of office supplies, materials for trade fairs, events, etc. to more sustainable choices. This means that suppliers who themselves focus on sustainability will be preferable to suppliers who have no sustainability aspirations.
