The good application

Your application and CV are our only option to assess whether we should invite you for an interview or not. The CV is a reflection of your qualifications, and the application should give us an impression of your personality. Therefore, it is important that both your personality and your strengths are highlighted.

Before you write

Check the job posting and be honest with yourself; Are you equal to the job described in the posting? If you have any doubts on what the job requires and whether it is the right match for your competencies, you can call the contact person listed in the posting. Apply for the job, if it is clear to you why you are the right candidate.

We also recommend that you read more about Topdanmark as a workplace and your conditions of employment.

Show off in your application

Keep the application short, one page at the most. Focus on why you are applying for this job, and why they should choose you.

It could be e.g. your background, your work experiences, special competencies (language, IT, administrative skills), or your personality (interpersonal skills, humour, flexibility).

Write in an ordinary everyday language that comes naturally to you. Tell us how you see the future for your job at Topdanmark. Respond to the requirements or tasks described in the posting. Your application will work as discussion paper for the job interview. You can affect the interview by providing a good discussion paper for it.

The story about your previous jobs, education and qualifications should be in your CV, but a few relevant references may well fit in the application. Make sure that the information in the CV and in the application match.

"Sometimes a bubbly and creative application is the way to go, and sometimes – for other jobs – it is best that the application oozes of attention to detail"

The important CV

You should always supplement your application with a CV. The CV should include the facts of work experience, education, competencies and general qualifications relevant to the position. Mention the tasks that you have performed under each previous position, along with your responsibilities – preferably in point form.

Usually, you should not enclose any other appendices unless specified in the job posting. Instead, you can bring relevant papers to the personal interview.

A piece of good advice: Get someone to read it

Check your application and get someone you trust to read it. When reading your application, what does it make the reader focus on? Does it give the right impression of you? At the same time, have the language checked and whether you are honest and sell yourself well enough.
